Another 'after-worker' early evening session at Pevensey for me.

Got there as Julian (one of the Superhero rescue team) was thinking of changing up to bigger rig ..... persuaded him to stick his 6m into my Kona 10'5 and give that a go while I rigged 5.8m Poison and Pro-Cross 118 to give it a go.

Julian seemed to enjoy his maiden voyage, in fact he was out for ages and seemed pleasantly surprised with the board ..... everytime I saw him on the water, he was smiling !

Cross 118 felt nice, though I needed to tweak footstraps after first run out as I'd set them far too big ! As wind dropped off a bit, I thought I'd hop onto the 10'5 Kona but Paul looked keen to give it a go having seen and spoken with Julian .... so I grabbed the Kona 11'5 and plugged the 5.8m in and set out for some more fun on the water.

Managed to catch some small waves, and also really crank it off the swell faces out the back a couple of times .... heading out I even got a bit ...errr .... airborn !!

One thing I did notice was that when I span out it took a bit more effort to bring back onto the fin than shorter boards with their bigger fins, but other than that it cruised about and took me home when we'd done.

Paul seemed to enjoy the Kona 10'5 also .... and was impressed with both it's freeride ability as well as it's light wind potential on a number of levels.

For me .... I just got to find some waves to play on it .... just need a nice x-off Camber session at Little Maui to really get some use from it ....
